Liverpool summer transfer rumours!

Hello everyone!

Firstly I do know my blog submission is dismally low and this is down to a number of factors. Firstly college has been very demanding on me with coursework submissions and revision, secondly I just simply can't be bothered half the time, which is the truth so guess we'll just have to see where we go from here.

But the most important thing is that I'm here now, doing a post! But before we go into that am going to firstly talk about what I'm going to be up to in the future.

Firstly in case you didn't know my twitter account @CroftxD started out as a place for me where I was going to post updates on new videos and updates on my youtube account IXISNiiP3RIXI but I started to lose interest and eventually my twitter account just turned into a general daily account, which is great. But I am happy with the break I have took from youtube and am ready to start making video's again so expect to see some updates and fifa video's on my youtube account (that is if you've subscribed). Also, later on in the year I'm going to be starting university to study computer science and when I do I want to start making real life videos and photography so that will increase my output alot on my youtube page and I do look forward to starting that. But for now...

Now onto the main post!

Over the last few months or so liverpool have been linked with near enough every player under the sun and with supposedly a large number of people on social networking sites claiming to be ITK it's becoming more difficult to filter out the fact from the fiction, so what I'm doing is creating a comprehensive list of the players who I am seeing continuously pop up as being linked with moves to Liverpool in the summer. And at this point I would like to say that I'm in no way ITK and I have no links or connections to anyone who may have inside information on Liverpool targets. These are all just my personal opinions coming from a another fan.

Ashley young - Aston Villa
So first on the list is Aston Villa winger ashley young. With liverpool
acquiring Luis Suarez & Andy Carroll in january Liverpool are now in need of a wingman to get balls into the box for the head of Carroll. And Ashley Young is a player who does seem to be highly regarded by Damien Commoli. In my opinion Young would be a great addition and over the years at Aston Villa he has improved as a player and is now regarded as one of the best players currently at Villa.

Croft's Verdict: Awesome winger with bags of talent and a good chance of seeing him at Anfield next season.

Chance of signing (Out of 10) = 7

Eden Hazard - Lille
Another player in the same predicament as Young is youngster Eden Hazard. Having see him both on youtube and live, this kid definitely has the potential to be a huge star at anfield but with other major clubs including man united and arsenal both interested it may be hard work to get him.

Croft's Verdict: Best option in term's of a wingman but may take a large bid to prize him away from the french outfit.

Chance of signing = 5

Leighton Baines - Everton
Next on the list is locally born Leighton Baines. In recent years Baines has become a top class left back for Everton and this season he has really come to be a top player both attacking and defensive. With paul Konchesky and Insua failing to impress at Liverpool it appears that Liverpool have turned their attention to Goodison park for the young starlet, a few rumours that have been doing the rounds are, that he himself is a Liverpool fan and so to is his family. So if these are true we could be seeing Baines taking the short trip across stanley park.

Croft's Verdict: Solid left back who would be a very ideal left back but getting Everton to submit to losing one of there best players will be difficult, but the right price may see him leave.

Chance of signing = 5

Charlie Adam - Blackpool
Centre mid scot who has really impressed in his first year in the premier league. If Blackpool are to stay in the premier league this season a large chunk of the reason why will be down to this man. So it looks as though he may be ready to step up to the next level. A position that is not in desperate need of a recruit but Liverpool do look like they want a large amount of quality players in each position and Charlie Adam is looking to be a decent player.

Croft's Verdict: Quality player who would definitely add quality in depth to Liverpool's squad.

Chance of signing = 6

M'vila - Rennes
Croft's Verdict: Looks like a very good player but other major clubs have also suppose to of been sniffing around.
Chance of signing = 6

Jose Enrique - Newcastle
Croft's Verdict: Top left back watched him recently against Liverpool and looked pretty good, according to Phil Thompson it's a done deal.
Chance of signing = 8

Gary Cahill - Bolton
Croft's Verdict: Personal favourite of mine and would be ideal replacement for when Carra retires.
Chance of signing = 7

Aguero - Atletico Madrid
Croft's Verdict: Amazing player but very unlikely he will sign.
Chance of signing = 1

Alonso - Real Madrid
Croft's Verdict: Liverpool legend in his own right, still a very small chance he may return.
Chance of signing = 1

So there's a selected few of the names linked with a move, it would be impossible for me to analyze every single player linked, so hopefully i've got a good mixture of good chances signing and other more dream like players.

See you soon folks!

Arsenal. Borderline brilliance.

So here is my third post so far and my first non-LFC related post. I've always said from the beginning this blog would not be just all LFC posts, but include some more football related posts, and with Liverpool only managing a boring nil nil draw in the europa and not being involved in the FA Cup over the weekend, anything I post would of been either boring or more possibly a lie. So the one team that springs to mind who I feel are worthy of a post, are the team who let a four nil lead slip at half time to newcastle and then eleven days later go on to comeback and beat the catalan giants barcelona 2-1 in the champions league first leg... It can only be Arsenal FC.

So Arsenal FC, what phrases come to mind when you think of 'The Mighty Gunners'? "The team is to young to win a trophy" "Next year they'll be one hell of a team" "They just don't have the quality in depth to compete in all competitions." After the era of The invincibles only one player still plays in the Arsenal team today, Gael Clichy. And the Arsenal team he plays in today are only a shadow of the invincibles of 03-04. Players like Viera, Pires and Henry have been replaced with the likes of Fabergas, Nasri and Arshavin, all of which are high quality players but all of which have only had a glimpse of true success at Arsenal. Cesc Fabergas now captain of Arsenal was only in the academy the last time Arsenal won a league title. With the statue of the team, the players they have, the manager in charge how have they managed to go five years without winning a trophy? Most argue that Arsene Wenger has been building a team from youth with the likes of wilshere and fabergas being a few of the success stories under Arsene. But it has come to the point where no longer can people truly say that Arsenal is still full of youngsters. Players like Nasri, Van Persie and Fabergas are all now in there peak, and this has been evident this year no question. But still they sit second behind Man United and drawing against the likes of newcastle in the way they did, would have done themselves no favours, so the premier league looks out of reach once again this season with Man Utd taking the league by storm. However it is a different story in the Champions league, finishing second in there group they were drawn against 3 times champions FC Barcelona. But after falling behind in the 26th Minute from a David Villa goal, Arsenal played there typical counter attacking football and went on to win 2-1 putting themselves in a very good position going into the second leg.
So with the carling cup final on the weekend, a Fa-Cup replay against Leyton Orient and a trip to Barcelona things are still looking very good for the Gunners.
My personal opinion from an outsider looking in is, if Arsenal can get themselves a decent keeper like Shay Given, David De Gea, Hugo Lloris etc.., aswell as strengthen there centre back pairing because I feel after the likes of Campbell, Toure and Gallas left they have struggled to find adequate replacement. If they do manage to do fix these problems in the summer then maybe they can become a dominant european force.
However only time will tell if these young Gunners have matured enough to go on and collect Silverware this season.

*Hope you enjoyed this weeks post, I am aware that some of my grammar mistakes are amateurish but hopefully you can see past this and see a Liverpool fan trying his best to talk about Arsenal. All the best and i'll see you in a few weeks.

Torres and the un-fulfillment of destiny.

So my first blog didn't get many views, but that's ok. It's a new blog so it is bound to take some time for it to get noticed. So onwards and upwards!

So Fernando Torres Chelsea's number nine came out and spoke about how it was his destiny to score against Liverpool on sunday. Destiny is defined as "an event that will inevitably happen in the future", so it was no surprise to find that this put fear into the hearts of 'some' Liverpool fans. Also before the big game Torres spoke to ChelseaTV at how happy he is to 'finally' be at a big club, not the smartest thing to have said. But after the game Torres did re-track what he said and even said that Liverpool were in fact the bigger club out of the pair (due to history), and he was also backed by former team mate Dirk Kuyt who said Torres may not have said something he meant with having english as his second language, so to be fair trying learning a second language and having the press focus on every word you say, your bound to make mistakes so am happy to drop the matter. So unless Torres comes out to the press again make comments regarding Liverpool, I highly doubt you'll see myself mentioning his name in any of my future posts. This isn't out of anger or bitterness but simply as a way of moving on, and by beating chelsea 1-0 this will greatly help myself do so and am sure will have done for many others.
Alot of Liverpool players including the likes of Gerrard, Carragher and recently today Dirk Kuyt have all called on our american owners to give Kenny Daglish the full time job on a permanent basis. The King said he would only happily step down as caretaker manager of Liverpool if someone else better than himself were to take charge. And off the top of my head I honestly can't think of anyone else more suited for the job. He knows the club better than anyone, he has brilliant man managment skills seeing the likes of Meireles, Lucas and Martin Kelly all flourish under him. And in my opinion the most important factor, he has truly managed to bring the feel good factor back to Anfield proven by 4 straight wins, something which Liverpool have been lacking in the last 18 months under Rafa and Roy.
So hopefully my next post will be maybe in a fortnight when liverpool have played a few more matches and hopefully we can continue to carry on the unbeaten streak we are on at the moment.

Life after torres.

Hello and welcome to my new blog! Your probably here as you follow me on twitter or are subscribed to my YouTube page. As you can probably guess from my tweets, most my posts will have a Liverpool fc theme to them. However this is not to say some will ignore Liverpool and focus on other topics. This blog won't be an annually thing so my posts will be ill-regular, however i will always update my twitter when a new post has been added so that way you will always be informed of my latest post! So enjoy my first post and let me know what you think.

So here we are Thursday 3rd February 2011 without Fernando Torres a Liverpool player. Throughout January I have been checking twitter, LFC forums, RAWK looking for any information on Liverpool's latest 'potential' target Luis Suarez. Suarez initially caught my eye in the 2010 world cup and no not with the infamous 'hand of god' but for his 3 goals and impressive performances upfront with Forlan which help saw Uruguay reach the semi finals. After the world cup I began to take a real interest in Suarez and was highly impressed at his goal scoring record for Ajax. So obviously after hearing Liverpool were interested in his services I began to become obsessed with any piece of latest information I could find on what is currently happening, but after a rocky bidding process, on the 28th January Ajax had finally accepted an offer for Suarez and from there it looked as though Suarez and Torres was to be the new strike force for Liverpool. And this including me and fellow Liverpool fans got us a bit excited. But on a night out I received a text from my mate which put a damper to say the least on the whole Suarez saga After 2 bids from Chelsea for Fernando Torres, Torres had decided to hand in a transfer request signaling the end of his career at Anfield and shattering fans hope of seeing him and Suarez both play together in the famous red shirt. So twitter shifted itself away from Suarez and sat waiting to see what would happen on transfer deadline day with Liverpool's famous number nine. And what was to happen I highly doubt anyone seen coming. Liverpool had moved for Newcastles' modern day Alan Shearer, Andy Carroll. As I sat watching the events of deadline day unfold Liverpool looked to have instantly found there new number 9. And that's exactly what happened, Torres completed his 50 million pound move to Chelsea with 22 year old Andy Carroll moving to Liverpool.
So after letting the dust settle I feel Liverpool are now in a better position than what they were at the start of December. And after already seeing our new signing scoring on his debut from the bench, this tells me it will only be a matter of time before we seeing Liverpool battling for champions league once more.
So Goodbye El Nino you have moved on and I'm sure in no time at all the whole of Liverpool will aswell.
Welcome Andy Carroll and high flying El Pistolero.
